About Mainely Vee Maine Coons
Welcome to MainelyVee Maine Coons! We are a TICA and CFA registered Maine Coon cattery located in Northwest/Central Ohio.
Thank you for considering one of our kittens as a future member of your family. Our goal is simple: to preserve the Maine Coon breed by producing healthy, well-socialized kittens with excellent temperament, structure, and breed type while following the written Maine Coon breed standard.
MainelyVee is a small, home-based cattery where quality always comes before quantity. We carefully plan a limited number of litters each year so every cat and kitten receives the attention, care, and socialization they deserve. Our kittens are raised underfoot in our home as part of the family, helping them grow into confident, affectionate companions.
Health and transparency are at the heart of our breeding program. Breeding cats complete comprehensive health testing, including DNA screening, cardiac echocardiograms (HCM), hip evaluations, and other recommended testing before entering our program. We also participate in TICA and CFA cat shows to evaluate our cats against the written breed standard and continually strengthen our breeding program.
At MainelyVee, we are committed to preserving the Maine Coon through ethical, responsible breeding. We do not breed cats with DBE traits, as they are not recognized within the written Maine Coon breed standard.
The name MainelyVee reflects both my passion for Maine Coons and my Deaf identity. In Deaf culture, "Vee" expresses fascination and admiration exactly how I feel about these incredible cats.
About Me
Hi, I'm Andrew!
I've loved animals my entire life. Growing up on a farm and around the lake taught me responsibility, patience, and the importance of proper animal care. Over the years I've cared for dogs, reptiles, amphibians, and even managed more than 30 freshwater aquariums, experiences that deepened my appreciation for genetics, health, and environmental management.
Everything changed when I discovered the Maine Coon. I fell in love with their impressive size, gentle personalities, intelligence, and loyal, dog-like nature. More than that, Maine Coons have become my greatest source of comfort and therapy. They give me purpose, keep me going each day, and are the inspiration behind MainelyVee.
MainelyVee was founded from a genuine passion for learning, showing, and preserving this remarkable breed. I believe responsible breeding begins with health, temperament, transparency, and a lifelong commitment to every kitten and family. My goal is to preserve and improve the Maine Coon breed while sharing the same love and companionship these incredible cats have brought into my own life.
My beloved Donkey will always hold a special place in my heart. He was the reason I fell in love with the Maine Coon breed and the inspiration behind MainelyVee. Although he is no longer with me, his legacy lives on through every step of this journey. Everything I do is in honor of him and the joy he brought into my life.
